EE BAFTAs 2013
With the snow sleeting down on Covent Garden on Sunday night, perfectly typical British weather, A-list celebrities were arriving for the biggest film event in UK cinema – the 66th British Academy of Film and Television Awards.
Interviews with Bradley Cooper, Jessica Chastain, Amy Adams and Ben Affleck were being conducted on the red carpet, brollies were held over beautiful heads and excitement was rising about who was going to win which award. But, what we all really wanted to know was ‘who’s wearing who?’
None of the ladies disappointed with Best Supporting Actress winner, Anne Hathaway wearing a stunning Burberry gown, EE Rising Star winner Juno Temple in Stella McCartney and Nicholas Oakwell providing a hat-trick in the glamorous visions that were Helen Mirren, Natalie Dormer and Paloma Faith. Jessica Chastain opted for Roland Mouret, Elizabeth Olson was in Chanel and both Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard in Dior.
As for the gentlemen, Damian Lewis and Eddie Redmayne decided upon a very dapper velvet Burberry suit, Samuel L Jackson and Luke Evans in Hackett and the Cary Grant of the modern era, George Clooney in Armani.
The ‘Silver Screen’ may be a phrase used to describe an era in film that no longer exists but the glitz and glamour will never fade.
